Newcastle Airport offers a range domestic freight and pet travel services for businesses and personal use via our airline partners Qantas (Qantas Freight) and Virgin Australia (Virgin Australia Cargo).
Items safely transported through our airport include unaccompanied baggage, domestic pets, exotic animals, perishable foods, agricultural products, engineering and mining equipment. Dangerous goods cannot be transported through our airport.
Our airline partners pick up cargo from Newcastle Airport and deliver it to anywhere within Australia. Priority and express services are also available, with the option for same day delivery.
To book a freight or pet travel service from Newcastle Airport, or for more information please contact our airline partners directly. Please note that all cargo must be pre-booked with either Qantas Freight or Virgin Australia before arriving at Newcastle Airport.

When you arrive at the airport
If you are dropping off an animal, you will need to go directly to the Freight loading zone. Simply drive along Williamtown Drive towards the airport terminal. When you reach the end of the road you will see a Taxi rank on your left-hand side. Just after the Taxi rank take a left turn into the driveway, which leads to the Qantas Freight hangar.
All freight and animals need to be dropped off and picked up from this hangar, regardless of which company you booked through. Please proceed to the glass door of the hangar. If no one is answering the door, please ring the phone number marked on the door.
